The Coronavirus belongs to the Severe Acute Respiratory Sundrome or SARS family. According to a report, it was first discovered in China at the Hua Nan Seafood Market in Wuhan and the outbreak likely started from a ‘spillover’ incident when the virus was passed from humans to virus.

Here are some points that you must keep in mind about the Coronavirus:

* There is no vaccine to treat the Cornavirus. Trails are underway.

* To prevent the spreading of virus, you are advised to cover your eyes, mouth and nose.

* Wash your hands often with soap and water and for at least 20 seconds. If infected, stay at home and avoid crowds or contact with others.

* Wearing a mask can be helpful. Face masks with respiratory valves are more effective than regular paper surgical masks, though the latter is better than nothing.

* People are also advised to drink plenty of fluids and get proper sleep.

How deadly is the Coronavirus?

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Coronavirus does not yet constitute a global emergency. WHO, however, has urged China to keep its lockdown of some 20 million people "short". "This is an emergency in China, but it has not yet become a global health emergency," said WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Some reports further claim that this outbreak is not as deadly as other types of coronavirus such as SARS, which killed nearly 800 people worldwide during a 2002-2003 outbreak that also originated from China.

Symptoms of the Coronavirus:

The WHO has said that the symptoms of the Coronavirus are fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. It can also lead to pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
