Baba Siddique Murder: In a shocking revelation, former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique's murder accused told Mumbai Police that they were given a contract to kill both Siddique and his son Zeeshan. The Mumbai police said that both Baba Siddique and Zeeshan were on target of the accused. The police said that Zeeshan had received threats just days before Siddique’s murder.
“Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of Baba Siddiqui had received threats a few days before the incident took place. The accused told during interrogation that both Zeeshan and Baba Siddiqui were on the target and they were ordered to fire on anyone they found. Zeeshan Siddiqui was also the target of the accused. The accused were given a contract to kill both Zeeshan and Baba Siddiqui,” Mumbai Police said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
Baba Siddique was shot multiple times by three men in the presence of his son as he left his office in Bandra (West), Mumbai. The incident took place on October 12, 2024, between 21:15 and 21:30 hours. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment but declared dead by medical staff.

Following his murder, a case has been registered at Nirmal Nagar Police Station under Crime Registration No. 589/2024, involving multiple charges, including sections 103(1), 109, 125, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as well as sections of the Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Sunday claimed responsibility for Siddique's murder. The 66-year-old Maharashtra leader was shot dead outside his office in Mumbai's Bandra during Dussehra celebrations on Saturday night.
A Facebook post by Lawrence Bishnoi gang member, which quickly went viral, said the gang targeted Siddique because of his close ties to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and alleged links to underworld figures like Dawood Ibrahim.
