Thane police books Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate from Kopri-Pachpakhadi Kedar Dighe for possession of alcohol and cash. A case was registered against Dighe under Section 174 (undue influence or personation at an election) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Several renowned actors and filmmakers, including Salman Khan’s Parents, Suniel Shetty, Kartik Aaryan, Sharvari, arrived at polling booths in Mumbai to exercise their democratic rights and inspire others to do the same.

18.14 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 11 am according to data from the Election Commission of India. Gadchiroli recorded the highest turnout at 30 per cent, while Nanded recorded the lowest at 13.67 per cent. 15.78 per cent voting was noted in Mumbai so far.

"Today is the festival of democracy and everyone should participate and vote and this will strengthen Maharashtra, democracy. People have not forgotten what happened in 2019, the mandate was for Mahayuti but Mahayuti could not form the government. People have seen their (Maha Vikas Aghadi) 2.5 years of rule and have also seen our 2.5 years of rule. We started the development that they had stopped. We started many schemes including Ladli Behna... Mahayuti will form the government with a huge majority," he said. 

Mumbai City Collector Sanjay Yadav on Wednesday cast his vote for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections and encouraged Mumbaikars to do the same.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with his wife Amruta Fadnavis and mother Sarita Fadnavis cast votes in Nagpur. He is contesting as a BJP candidate from Nagpur South-West Assembly seat.

6.61 per cent voter turnout has been recorded as of 9 am in Maharashtra, according to data from the Election Commission of India. Voting is underway in 288 assembly constituencies across the state.

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole got blessings from his family ahead of voting in the assembly elections. Patole who is vying for a third term in the Sakoli constituency, was recently accused by BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi of illegally using cryptocurrency funds to rig the elections.

After casting his vote, former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar said, “I have been an icon of the ECI (Election Commission of India) for quite some time now. The message I am giving is to vote. It is our responsibility. I urge everyone to come out and vote.”

Actor Sonu Sood left the polling booth in Mumbai after casting his vote for the Maharashtra election. He said, “It is everybody’s responsibility to go out and vote. It’s very important for the country…”

“I would appeal everyone to use their precious vote. It is your right to choose a government, it is your right to become a part of the world’s largest democracy. I have to vote, my father (Baba Siddiqui) is not with me (physically)… it feels different this time, but I feel he is with me,” said NCP candidate from Vandre East Zeeshan Siddiqui.

NCP-SP leader and Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule on Wednesday denied her involvement in the alleged 2018 cryptocurrency fraud case, clarifying that the audio clip presented by the saffron party does not have her voice.

NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule cast her vote at a polling booth in Baramati. NCP has fielded Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, and NCP-SCP has fielded Yugendra Pawar from the Baramati assembly constituency. 

 "The arrangements here are very good as I can see that arrangements for senior citizens are very good and cleanliness has been maintained. I want everyone to come out and cast their votes..." Kumar said after casting his vote

Supriya Sule has filed a criminal complaint after a retired police officer, Ravindranath Patil, accused her and state Congress chief Nana Patole of being involved in a fraud case involving cryptocurrency that dates back to 2018.

"It is very important (to vote). Everyone, please step out and vote. This is the voting day, it is very important," urges Rao.

After offering prayers at the Shri Mumbadevi temple in her assembly constituency, Shiv Sena candidate Shaina NC has urged Mumbaikars to come out and vote instead of complaining, reported news agency ANI.

After casting his vote, RSS leader Suresh Bhayyaji Joshi said, 'People should exercise their democratic right and cast their vote wisely.' 

Mumbai BJP president and candidate from Bandra West assembly constituency, Ashish Shelar casts his vote at a polling station in St. Stanislaus High School of Bandra in Mumbai.

Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan has voted in the Vidhan Sabha election in the poll booth at Raj Bhavan under the Colaba assembly constituency in Mumbai, reported news agency ANI.

Maharashtra Deputy CM and NCP candidate from Baramati Assembly constituency, Ajit Pawar, exercised his franchise in Baramati. He is the party candidate from here. Pawar said the people will make him win this seat. 

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat showed off his inked finger after casting his vote at a polling booth in Nagpur for the Maharashtra assembly elections. "In a democracy, voting is a citizen's duty. Every citizen should perform this duty. I was in Uttaranchal, but I came here last night to cast my vote. Everyone should vote," says Bhagwat. 

The voting process has begun across 288 assembly constituencies in Maharashtra, reported news agency PTI. Over 1,00,186 polling stations have been established across over 52,789 locations as Maharashtra votes in a tense showdown between the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the Maha Vikas Aghadi
