Mumbai 99-Hour-Long Water Cut: Residents in several parts of Mumbai are currently facing 99 hours of low water pressure beginning December 22 due to water pipeline diversion and cross-connection works required for the Mumbai Metro Line 7A.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the supply disruption is expected to last nearly four days and impact several wards in the central and western suburbs, causing significant inconvenience to the residents during the period.

Mumbai 99-Hour-Long Water Supply Disruption: Check Details

Earlier this week, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation announced that a 99-hour-long supply disruption will begin at 10 AM on Monday, December 22, and continue until 1 PM on Friday, December 26, 2025. This disruption is aimed at facilitating pipeline diversion and cross-connection work for the Mumbai Metro Line 7A project.

The BMC officials said the work is unavoidable, emphasising that the work is a critical component of long-term infrastructure improvements aimed at supporting the city’s expanding metro network.

G North Ward

Morning supply zone, which will see reduced pressure from 9 AM to 5 PM include Dharavi Loop Road, A.K.G. Nagar, Jasmine Mill Road, Matunga Labour Camp, Sant Rohidas Road, 60 Feet Road, 90 Feet Road, Sant Kakeya Road, M.P. Nagar, Dhorwada and Mahatma Gandhi Road.

Evening supply areas, including Dharavi Main Road, Ganesh Mandir Road, Dilip Kadam Road, Jasmine Mill Road, Mahim Junction and A.K.G. Nagar, will experience low pressure from 5 PM to 10 PM, compared to the regular 4 PM to 9 PM supply window.

K East Ward

Areas receiving afternoon supply, Kabir Nagar, Bamanwada, Parsi Wada, the Airport area, Tarun Bharat Colony, Islampura, Deulwadi and P&T Colony, will experience reduced pressure during the regular 2 PM to 5:30 PM supply window.

Evening supply zones, including Koldongri, Old Police Lane, Vijay Nagar along Sahar Road and Mogarpada, will face low pressure during the usual 5 PPM to 10 PM distribution period over the four days.

H East Ward

Late-night areas such as Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Motilal Nagar, which normally receive water from 10 PM to 11:40 PM, will experience low pressure during this period.

Early-morning supply areas, including Prabhat Colony, Kalina, CST Road (South Side), University Area, Khar Subway to Kherwadi, Bandra East, Golibar Road and surrounding localities, will face reduced pressure from December 23 to 25, during their usual 3:30 AM to 9 AM supply window.

When Will Water Supply Resume In Affected Areas?

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said the water supply will resume gradually after 1 PM on Friday, December 26, after the cross-connection work is finished and the system stabilises.
