French open 2025 Final: The women's singles summit of the ongoing summit clash promises to be a nail-biting thriller. Aryna Sabalenka will lock horns with Coco Gauff for the French Open final on Saturday, June 7 at the Center court.
Sabalenka would be riding high on confidence as she had qualified for the French Open summit clash for the first time. She pipped four-time French Open winner Iga Swiatek and qualified for the summit clash on Thursday.
Sabalenka stopped Swiatek's 26-match winning streak as she defeated the four-time champion by 7-6 (7-1), 4-6, 6-0. Sabalenka, who had already won the Australian Open and the US Open on hard courts, will now try to dominate the clay court.
At the same time, Coco Gauff had been seen struggling during the last two summit clashes at the clay court, which also includes the Madrid Open. During Madrid, Sabalenka had defeated Gauff and then Gauff also featured in the French Open summit clash in 2023, where he lost to Iga Swiatek.
Gauff has been at her absolute best in French Open 2025 and had dropped a set just once and that too against Madison Keys during the quarterfinal. She then defeated Lois Boisson during the semifinal in straight sets.
