Elavenil then added another silver later in the day in the women's 10m air rifle individual event, giving India two silver medals from shooting.

She finished with 252.4 points, while Japan's Taichi Hinata won gold with 253.0 and South Korea's Ban Hyojin took bronze with 230.4.

India’s Asian Games 2026 Medal Count

India currently have two silver medals, both won in shooting on the opening day of their medal campaign.

The first came in the women's 10m air rifle team event, where Sonam Maskar, Elavenil Valarivan and Vidarsa Vinod combined for 1898.0 points. China finished first, while Japan narrowly missed out on silver after scoring 1897.1.

Elavenil subsequently produced another outstanding performance in the individual final. After qualifying seventh with 633.5, she fought for gold throughout the final before finishing with 252.4 points. Japan's Taichi Hinata won gold by just 0.6 points.
