The curtains came down on the FIFA World Cup 2026 with Spain lifting their second world title after defeating Argentina 1-0 in extra time at MetLife Stadium. Alongside the team trophy, FIFA also honoured the standout individual performers who shone throughout the tournament.

Spain midfielder Rodri was named the winner of the Golden Ball, recognizing him as the tournament's best player after playing a pivotal role in La Roja's unbeaten run to the title. Argentina captain Lionel Messi finished second in the voting to claim the Silver Ball, while France star Kylian Mbappé received the Bronze Ball.

Despite France finishing third, Mbappé ended the competition as the tournament's top scorer with 10 goals, earning the Golden Boot and becoming the first player to win the prestigious award twice at the FIFA World Cup.

Spain also dominated the remaining individual honours. Goalkeeper Unai Simón won the Golden Glove after conceding just one goal throughout the tournament, while teenage defender Pau Cubarsí was named the Best Young Player following a series of composed performances at the heart of Spain's defence.
