The India vs Uruguay friendly is set for an intriguing contest as both teams have announced their starting lineups, with Uruguay naming Liverpool forward Darwin Núñez in their XI while India have made changes to the side that faced Brazil.

Anwar Ali holds his place to the starting lineup for the hosts, while Ronald Araújo has been named among Uruguay's substitutes.

India will once again be led by goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, with head coach Khalid Jamil making changes to his defensive and attacking setup following the 4-0 defeat against Brazil.

The match will also give the Indian players another opportunity to test themselves against a high-profile South American opponent.

Darwin Núñez Starts For Uruguay

Uruguay have gone with an experienced starting XI, with Núñez leading the attack. The forward will be one of the biggest threats for India, with José María Giménez captaining the visitors from defence.

Rodrigo Bentancur also starts in midfield, while Nahitan Nández, Rodrigo Zalazar and Maximiliano Araújo are among the other notable names in Uruguay's XI.

Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo, however, has been left on the bench, meaning India will not have to face the highly-rated defender from the opening whistle.

All Eyes On Anwar Ali

India have made changes to their lineup, with Pramveer starting in defence in place of Bijoy.  Anwar Ali will be the key man to lead the backline. Edmund Lalrindika comes into the attacking setup.

Gurpreet remains between the posts and wears the captain's armband. Abhishek Singh and Akash Mishra are also part of the defensive unit, while Anirudh Thapa and Apuia will look to provide control in midfield.

Ryan Williams and Manvir Singh offer width and attacking threat, with Ashique Kuruniyan also starting.

Uruguay will provide another stern test, particularly with Núñez leading their attack. India will hope their defensive changes can help them produce a more disciplined performance while also creating greater opportunities in the final third.
