Mohun Bagan vs East Bengal, Durand Cup 2025 Quarter-Finals HIGHLIGHTS: MBSG 1-2 EBFC; Diamontakos Double Hands Red And Gold Brigae Win

Full time whistle! It’s all hugs in and around the East Bengal dugout as the Red and Gold Brigade grind out a win against ISL champion Mohun Bagan Super Giant. Dimitrios Diamantakos the star for the Oscar Bruzon-coached side, as the Greek forward netted twice after coming on from the bench.

That's the whistle for the half-time break, and East Bengal have had an incredible first 45 minutes here at the Salt Lake Stadium. Mohun Bagan will be looking to put their best foot forward right from the start in the second half in order to bounce back in this quarter final.

This has been a disappointing first half for the Mariners so far, as they are yet to take a shot on target. Good defending from East Bengal on that occasion as well.

Diamantakos has converted the penalty to give East Bengal a 1-0 lead. Bipin did well to control the ball and was fouled by a Super Giants defender. Incredible from East Bengal, a few minutes ahead of the half-time break.

Diamantakos received that through pass and finished it brilliantly to find the back of the net, but he was clearly offside by a big margin. Goal ruled out.

East Bengal headed towards the penalty box with a chance, but they got a free kick following a foul on their player. However, nothing came out as productive for Bengal; Miguel Ferreira hit that away. No threat to the Super Giants' goal.

Super Giants initiated a move from the left side, but that was good defending from the East Bengal defence. There was a little heated moment between players of both teams.

This is a huge blow to East Bengal as the star forward Hamid Ahadad is down and will have to leave the field due to an injury issue. Dimitrios Diamantakos has replaced him on the field.

Tamang committed a foul to stop Mahesh, who looked a bit threatening on the left side. However, nothing came out as positive for East Bengal from that free kick.

This has been a disappointing start from both teams as the play has been a bit dispossessive so far. No threats for either side.

That was a remarkable shot as East Bengal had their first chance of the match, but well saved by the Super Giants' goalkeeper.

Mohun Bagan have defeated East Bengal four times in a row at the top-tier level and last lost to them in the Super Cup on January 19, 2024 (1-3). In the Durand Cup, the Mariners defeated East Bengal 1-0 in the 2023 final to claim a record 17th title.
