But this perception of time won't stop the Premier League from going forward. The 2025-26 season is all set to begin on Friday, where reigning champions Liverpool will lock horns with Bournemouth.

In what was barely an offseason, Liverpool has undergone a lot of changes. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City have invested in a few players in what was seen as a three-team title race. Chelsea, too, made a few investments, but that's exactly what they just do. Tottenham would be playing this season under the guidance of a new coach and would be without the services of their star player, Son Heung-Min. Newcastle, too, will be without the services of their superstar striker during the upcoming season.

Liverpool will try to create more shots compared to their opponents since they have worked on their shot quality and also reduced the breakdowns. This helped them to lift the title comprehensively.

One big question: Does an offensive rebuild throw off the balance?

One might wonder that Liverpool's campaign last year was off, as it is a team that was built by another regime, Manchester City had a forgetful outing, and Arsenal was plagued by wrong injuries at the wrong time. The club brought back Mohammed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk and had also spent around €200 million on the young sports star, young attackers (Wirtz and Ekitike), and had also replaced the ageing fullbacks, Andrew Robertson (Kerkez), and the Madrid-bound Trent (Frimpong). They had also retained Alexander Isak.

Salah shone brightly during the Premier League last season as he scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists. He's had one of the best contract years. They would also be without the services of Diaz, Nunez, and Diogo Jota.

If Liverpool fails to defend their title during the upcoming season, then their defensive breakdown should be blamed, but after signing Marc Gulehi and Giovanni Leoni, they might have ticked off that box as well. Despite all of this, they will aim to begin their campaign just like they ended the last one- at the top of the points table.
