Apple iPhone 18 Pro Series Leaks: Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro may be several months away from release, but leaks are already revealing a swathe of significant changes across the design and hardware. Initial indications suggest a revamp in screen array, battery size, engine room and camera capabilities. Combined, these changes indicate that Apple is setting its sights on delivering significant performance, efficiency and day-to-day usability improvements in its next-generation Pro models.

Display: Under-Display Face ID Tipped

The Face ID parts could go under the display on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, according to several recent reports. In that case there will be just one hole at the top-left corner of the screen.

This change would serve to delete the Dynamic Island and make for a cleaner, less cluttered interface. This would also see Apple maximising screen real estate on the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro and 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro Max, respectively.

Battery: Larger Capacity Expected

Changes to the battery are also hinted at. Another was reported to be working on the iPhone 18 Pro Max sold in China that might feature a huge 5,000mAh battery, according (as ever) to Digital Chat Station. Global variants are likely to get an even bigger battery, at least between 5,100 mAh and 5,200 mAh, according to reports.

This would be an improvement over the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which the report claims will come with a 5,088 mAh battery instead.

Processor: A20 Pro on 2 nm Process

The processor is where the major hardware improvement is expected. The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to showcase Apple’s A20 Pro processor that will be made on TSMC’s sophisticated 2nm process. The chip should provide around a 15% performance uplift and be about 30% more power efficient.

Camera: Variable Aperture Rumoured

The camera upgrades might introduce a mechanical variable aperture on the 48MP primary shooter. The system is also reportedly able to make corrections between f/1.4 and f/2.8, providing better control of light intake in different shooting scenarios.
