Apple iPhone Flip Phone Release: This year Apple is expected to make its debut in the foldable smartphone market. As per reports, the first foldable iPhone could be called iPhone Fold. However, as per the recent reports, Apple might not stop with the foldable; it is expected to explore another foldable design in a clamshell-style device known as the iPhone Flip. This iPhone model is expected to arrive in competition with the flip phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series and the Motorola Razr series.

iPhone Flip Launch Timeline

In the latest Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman revealed Apple’s foldable roadmap. According to Gurman, Apple is working on the smaller foldable device alongside the iPhone Fold, which is expected to launch in the second half of 2026.

Also, the iPhone is planned to release after the iPhone Fold. Although, as per the reports, its development is described as “far from guaranteed”.

Clamshell Design iPhone Flip Phone

The iPhone Flip is rumoured to have a square, clamshell-style design, similar to the flip phones such as:

- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7

- Motorola Razr 60 Ultra

This design will be aimed at making the phone more compact by folding it vertically, making it full-sized when opened.

Apple’s Foldable Strategy

As per the reports, Apple is quite confident that its foldable smartphone will perform well in the market and might drive demand for more foldable models. Just as customers choose from different variants, they can expect iPhones in multiple form factors.

Other than the iPhone Flip, Apple is also expected to launch a larger book-style foldable iPhone positioned higher than that of the Flip. The iPhone Fold is expected to have a 5.5-inch outer display. So the display will be smaller than the rivals like the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Apple iPhone Fold Expected Features

As per the reported leaks, iPhone Fold could feature:

- Minimal crease near Hinge

- Dual rear cameras

- Dual selfie cameras

- Flatter folding surface compared to rivals
