So I tried the Dreame L50s Pro Ultra vacuum cleaner, and here's what I think about it. Now, for anyone wondering its not your typical vacuum cleaner; it's a robot vacuum cleaner which comes with its own cleaning, charging, and docking station. But before I go into how it performed and how much it delivers when it comes to overall usage, let's take a look at what it's made of and its tech specs.

What's Inside The Robot Vacuum
Now this thing comes loaded with all sorts of tech, from physically extending mopping arms to AI that can get things done smartly. To begin with its power it has 30,000Pa of suction capacity, which comes through its Vormax Suction System. Then comes the main brush, the HyperStream Detangling DuoBrush (Rubber & TriCut), and it comes with dynamic lifting as well.
When it comes to mopping tech, it has a Dual Flex Arm, which mainly consists of a side brush and mop pads that extend up to 4cm. The mops can also be lifted for cleaning the carpets. It also has climbing ability and can cross any threshold that is 40mm in height.
AI Mapping Tech
Now the Dreame L50s Pro Ultra vacuum robot is AI-laden, and this is used in its navigation. It has a pathfinder LiDAR sensor, which is used as a mapping apparatus. It also comes with an AI Action Visual Camera that has the capacity to recognise 220+ object types. Apart from that, it also has an LED headlight for when things get a bit darker.
Power and Battery
The robot vacuum is backed by a 5,200mAh battery. It features a 250ml onboard dustbin and a 250ml onboard water tank for mopping.
PowerDock Features
The accompanying PowerDock is designed to minimise manual maintenance. It washes the mop using 100°C hot water through the ThermoHub system and dries it with hot air after each cleaning cycle.
For hands-free cleaning, the dock includes a 3.2L dust bag that can hold debris for up to 100 days. It also houses a 4.5L clean water tank and a 4.0L dirty water tank. Additionally, the dock automatically dispenses floor cleaning solution when required and features the AceClean DryBoard self-cleaning washboard to help keep the base clean.
Design And Feel
The overall unit has a very premium design and feel; the robot itself looks plush and feels like a high-end product with detailed finishing, so you will not be disappointed by its looks. I have mine in white, and it just looks very cutting-edge.
The dock is also very premium, and its utility compartments are also fitted with premium-quality plastic, and maintenance equipment is also world-class, so I have absolutely no complaints here as well.
Now I think that's enough of technical specifications, let's get to the interesting part now, how does it really perform?
Daily Usage And Performance
Now, to begin with, you need to install the dedicated Dreame app on your Android or iOS device and then pair this device with that app. It's not a tiring process and will take no more than 5 minutes of your time. You just need to scan the QR code found on the robot itself, on the top after opening its flap. After that, all you need to do is just attach the mops given in the device kit itself to it and plug the docking station into a convenient power point in your house. Then, after the app is done connecting to the device, just tap on the button that says start mapping, I mean, this is what I did. Maybe you can recharge it as well before, but I went straight for it.
Here, the device starts calibrating and recognising spaces in the environment of your house, and goes everywhere to get the mapping done using its LiDAR sensor. Another interesting feature is that you can also upload a picture of your pets if you have any, and its AI will recognise them as well and then try to avoid them intentionally. I found this useful for pet owners.
Now, the device does a very good job of mapping your household area, and in the app, you can also see the map of your house that the vacuum robot has created, and I have to say I was surprised by the fact that the robot knows exactly what part is your dining area, what part is your kitchen and your bedroom.
It could be the AI at work and its detection sensors; in my opinion, it did a very good job of mapping the area.
Now, the main part: how good is it when it comes to daily usage and performance?
Cleaning The House
You must note here its not like a vacuum cleaner and cannot take care of big particles as it might get stuck in its main vacuum and brush, and it might start making a noise like a tractor, but you can easily remove it from your hands, as I did with it once. Apart from that, this thing can take care of mostly everything, even get nicely into corners and with its brush and mop, it can take care of those edges as well that you might miss when cleaning your house.
The most interesting feature is its extending mop arm that swiftly cleans out corners and hard-to-reach areas, which most robot vacuum cleaners might not be able to do because of the shape of the robot, but the L50s Pro Ultra has you covered with that. It also has a good sense of direction and is flexible in finding its way through the house and getting through tough corners and squeezed spaces easily.
So when it comes to fine-tuning your cleaning experience, the Dreame L50s Pro Ultra does a very good job. I could feel the difference while walking on the floor barefoot: the grittiness of the floor was gone, and it felt smooth, and my house felt much cleaner overall.
No Manual Maintenance
Apart from cleaning your house, the robot also cleans itself, taking away the tiring task of removing mops and brushes and cleaning them. Its dock station is loaded with various features like a clean and dirty water dispenser and collector and a high-temperature mop cleaner as well, where it rinses itself and gets back to work. The dock also acts as a charging station, and you can also use the dedicated liquid cleaner solution to put in the dedicated slot to amp up your cleaning. The robot automatically docks itself in it.
Extra Features
This is where it gets interesting: you can also see what the robot sees, i.e, through the app, you can connect to its main camera and get the display right on your device through the app. This means you can see your house in real time through the robot's eyes. In the app, you can also find an option for pet monitoring and that way you can also keep an eye on your pets while away, which is an interesting feature for pet owners.
You can also do various settings in the map and set no-go zones and more in it. You can also put a ramp and map it in as its threshold, then the robot will be able to access other areas where there is a higher partition as well. You can also set the cleaning order and other things as well.
A Few Squeaks
Over all the Dreame L50s Pro Ultra does a very good job although, I did face a problem with it scratching against the ground at first it would drag the main plastic guard of its main brushes against the ground and it did get noisy, but after a while it stopped happening more often but it still makes that noise sometimes, now I am not blaming the robot completely here as the floor could also be uneven, as my floor is a default mosaic floor and not marble or tiles so maybe that's the issue here.
Another thing is the height and size; although it did not bother me, but it might not be able to get into spaces like inside your bed if the height isn't enough – not a problem for me, but some might find it a problem.

Verdict
Overall, this is a great device for fine-tuning your cleaning experience, just put it on at any convenient time at night or day and forget about it. It goes on and clears everything in a matter of a few hours. Although some might find its pricing to be more at the expensive side, but the product does deliver, so I would like to give it an 8.5/10.
