New EPFO App: New mobile apps are coming for the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Now, users can withdraw some of their funds and use UPI to access the funds. Senior officials told Moneycontrol that the new apps will launch in the last week of March or first week of April. This huge digital upgrade will make it easier and faster for salaried employees to access their EPF funds.

New EPFO App: What’s Changing

The upcoming app from the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation will be separate from the existing UMANG platform. It will be directly linked to users’ bank accounts and integrated with UPI, including BHIM and other UPI apps.

“This will allow the EPFO users to transfer the funds in EPFO to their respective bank accounts…and then the withdrawal could be done through the UPI,” an official said.

Instead of filing claims through the UAN portal, members will be able to:

- View their eligible EPF balance in the new app

- Authenticate withdrawals using their UPI ID and UPI PIN

- Receive funds directly into their bank accounts within minutes

users will be allowed to withdraw up to 75 per cent of their EPF balance, while the remaining 25 per cent will stay locked as per existing rules. In case of job loss, this remaining amount can be withdrawn only after 12 months.
