Google Photos Update: Google is expanding on yet another one of its new features now, which is basically AI-powered editing for Google Photos rolling out to users in India. This latest feature now allows users on Android to use voice and text prompts to edit photos in any manner they like. With voice and text prompts, users can indicate exactly what change they want instead of manually looking out for each option. Google says that the engine powering these features in Gemini is available on devices that meet the following minimum requirements: 4GB RAM and Android 8.0 or above. These tools made their way to global users last year.

What Does The New Feature Do?
Google has rolled out new AI-powered editing tools for Google Photos in India, allowing users to make adjustments via text or voice commands. Users can request edits like blurring backgrounds, removing reflections, fixing glare, sharpening images, adjusting colours, or improving lighting. Multiple changes can be applied at once, so photos can be straightened, shadows fixed, and colours enhanced in a single request.
Additionally, Google Photos now offers personalised edits. Users can ask for adjustments such as removing sunglasses, opening eyes, or adding a smile. The feature leverages private face group images to make precise changes, especially useful for group photos where small details can be tricky to perfect.
The blog post also puts light on how Nano Banana lets users recreate sceneries, photos and creative styles on Google Photos. You can customise an image's composition, add new stuff like furniture, restore older photos, or place people or pets in a setting that is completely new, like a complete background swap.

This new update to Google Photos, though, the search giant says, is to remove difficulties in making edits and even make complex editing simpler for its users with the help of AI without any advanced skills. Another point to note here is the number of languages in which this new tool is available and includes local languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, and Gujarati. Google is also going to add C2PA content credentials to Google Photos, which would show if the image is AI-edited, and these images show their edit history, enhancing the privacy and transparency of the morphed content.
