Take-Two Interactive isn't backing away from Grand Theft Auto 6's November 19 release date. The company reaffirmed the date during its latest earnings call and said the game is already giving it plenty of confidence about the year ahead.
GTA 6 pre-orders went live in late June, and Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick described the response so far as “exceptional”. The company hasn't said exactly how many copies have been pre-ordered, but Zelnick said Take-Two has a “high degree of confidence” that Rockstar will release the game on November 19.
The numbers from Take-Two's latest quarter also point to a strong start. The company reported net bookings of $1.39 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2027 and is still forecasting $8 billion to $8.2 billion for the full financial year.
Zelnick expects GTA 6 to help Take-Two move into what he described as a “new era of growth”. He also said the company expects to maintain this larger scale in the coming years as it releases more games and continues to build on franchises it already has.
GTA 6 pre-orders are off to an 'exceptional' start
Take-Two hasn't put a number on GTA 6 pre-orders, but there are some estimates that show just how much interest the game is generating.
Newzoo said last month that GTA 6 had the strongest opening to a pre-order campaign it had ever recorded. According to the market research firm, the game brought in around $180 million in digital pre-orders across the US, UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain during its first week.
Newzoo also expects GTA 6 to generate between $3.3 billion and $5.2 billion in sales globally during its first week. Those figures are estimates, though, and haven't been confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two.
GTA 6's extended look is coming to Netflix
Take-Two also had something to say about the next GTA 6 showcase.
Rockstar recently announced that Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix on August 27. Zelnick said the company expects the showcase to build even more excitement around the game before its November release.
In an interview with IGN, he said Netflix was a “great way” to show the extended trailer and described the move as Rockstar trying something different with its marketing.

There's still no word on exactly what the extended footage will contain. It will be available exclusively on Netflix when it premieres on August 27, with the same showcase coming to YouTube six hours later.
For now, Rockstar's plan remains unchanged: GTA 6 is scheduled to arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X on November 19, 2026.
