Google seems to be turning its focus on education in India. On Tuesday, the company introduced AI-powered JEE Main mock tests powered by Gemini. The tech giant has announced an Rs 85 crore fund pipeline to support about 75 million students in India; apart from that, it has also signed an agreement to build India's first AI-enabled state university in Meerut.
This move forms a part of the strategy that aims to promote a comprehensive expansion of responsible AI technologies across the country's learning and skilling ecosystems, which focuses on not just exam prep but classroom management as well.

With this new approach Gemini offers more than just instant answers, but this will enable students to take tests, track their performance and even make it their personalised study planner.
How To Use It?
Aspirants can take full-length mock tests for practising JEE Main using Gemini; all you need to do is prompt the AI and type, "I want to take a JEE Main mock test." These test questions are sourced from institutions like PhysicsWallah and Careers360 to match the exam time experience the students would have to tackle in real time.
After the test finishes, Gemini will give you a performance tracking report about what went well and what might need improvement and can also explain the correct answer if the student feels stuck. This can act as a tutor.

Quizzes and Study Guides
Google is making learning smarter with AI. Its new Canvas tool in Search lets students upload class notes, and the AI turns them into tailored study guides or quizzes. Need it shorter or focused on a specific chapter? The AI adapts instantly.
This can also help students in making a study plan, curated specifically for each student instead of just getting a generic timetable.

A Larger Blueprint
On the education front, Google.org is giving Wadhwani AI an Rs 85 crore grant to upgrade government platforms like SWAYAM and POSHAN Tracker. The initiative will introduce voice-based AI tools for reading in ten Indian languages, along with English coaching programmes to boost job readiness. By December 2027, the plan aims to reach 75 million students and 1.8 million teachers across the country.
