Mivi One 5G to Launch in India on September 24, First Details Confirmed

The phone will be manufactured in Hyderabad, where Mivi is expanding its local manufacturing operations. It will be available through Flipkart and will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G platform. Mivi, however, is keeping the exact processor under wraps for now.

The company has already shared a few glimpses of the phone. The Mivi One 5G can be seen in a green colour option, with rounded corners and a rear camera setup that has two large circular rings placed diagonally. A small pill-shaped LED flash sits next to the cameras.

Mivi has also confirmed that Google is a strategic partner for the Mivi One. What this partnership means for the phone hasn't been revealed yet. The company is also talking about a clean software experience, which could point towards a near-stock Android interface or fewer pre-installed apps. Nothing has been confirmed on that front either.

As for the price, Mivi hasn't shared any details yet. The same goes for most of the specifications. Earlier leaks had suggested that the Mivi One 5G could land in India in the sub-Rs. 15,000 price range.

The launch is a big step for Mivi, which has spent the last 10 years making audio products. Its lineup so far has included earbuds, headphones, speakers, soundbars and home theatre systems.

With the Mivi One 5G, the company is now taking that experience into the smartphone space and expanding its product lineup beyond audio.
