Motorola is out with another one of its offerings in the Edge on Thursday, and this comes weeks after the company released the Edge 70 Pro model that was launched in the country. This newer model has several upgrades over its previous model, like a 50MP telephoto camera. This latest edition, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+, will go on sale in the country sporting three Pantone-made colours. So let's take a closer look at what the company has to offer this time.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Features and Specs

The device, for starters, has a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 extreme silicon, which is capable of delivering a max clock speed of 3.4 GHz, and the company claims that an AnTuTu score of 2,400,000 was achieved by the device while benchmarking it. As far as memory (RAM) is concerned, the device also features 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 onboard storage. For cooling, the mobile hosts a vapour chamber cooling tech with a 4,600 sq mm heat dissipation area.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ runs Android 16-based Hello UI and arrives with a premium feature set. Up front, it sports a 6.8-inch 1.5K Extreme AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,272 x 2,772 pixels and a pixel density of 450 ppi. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 5,200 nits peak brightness. Motorola has also included Water Touch technology, which improves touch responsiveness even when the screen is wet.

Under the hood, the device is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. For durability, Motorola claims the handset meets MIL-STD-810H standards and carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Cameras

Photography is one of the key highlights of the Edge 70 Pro+. The smartphone features a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-710 primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS).

The primary shooter is accompanied by a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera that supports up to 3x optical zoom and up to 50x digital zoom, while also benefiting from OIS for improved stability. Completing the setup is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 112-degree field of view. Motorola has also added a dedicated 2-in-1 light sensor to assist with exposure and colour accuracy.

The rear cameras can record videos at up to 4K resolution at 60 fps. On the front, the smartphone houses a 50-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus for selfies and video calls.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Battery And Connectivity

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ packs a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. It also offers 5W wired and wireless reverse charging, allowing users to charge compatible accessories directly from the phone.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and a USB Type-C port. The handset is equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.

Additional onboard sensors include a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and e-compass. The phone measures 162.7 x 75.6 x 7.19mm and weighs approximately 190g.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Price in India, Availability

Motorola has introduced the Edge 70 Pro+ in India at a launch price of Rs. 47,999 for the sole variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The company notes that this is an introductory price and the regular retail price could be higher later.
