Apple could soon have a new product for the home, and it is not just an upgrade to the Apple TV or HomePod. The company is reportedly working on a smart home hub called HomeView, which could let users manage connected devices, access widgets and use Siri from a single screen.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has shared more details about the device in his latest Power On newsletter. Apple is also expected to update the Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini, with the new products potentially arriving in the coming weeks. Here is what the report says about their designs, features and expected availability.
Apple HomeView Smart Hub: What Will It Look Like?
Apple is reportedly planning two versions of the HomeView hub. The main difference will be how users install them, with one designed for a table or kitchen counter and the other intended for wall mounting.
The countertop version is said to have a display sitting on a metal speaker base. The design reportedly takes inspiration from the iMac G4, Apple's desktop computer known for its distinctive screen and base. Buyers could get four colour options: space grey, silver, starlight and pink.
The wall-mounted version is expected to look different, with a square base and two colour options, silver and space grey. Both models could run on Apple's A18 chip, although the company has not confirmed the hardware.
Sound quality could be another selling point. Gurman suggests that the HomeView may sound better than the upcoming HomePod mini, though details about its speakers remain unclear.
Siri Could Be at the Centre of Apple's Home Hub
The HomeView is expected to put Siri at the heart of the smart home experience. Users could ask the assistant to control compatible devices around the house, making the hub a central point for everyday tasks.
Apple may also allow users to access a limited selection of apps on the device. However, Gurman suggests it might not have its own App Store, meaning users should not expect the same app experience available on an iPhone or iPad.
Widgets could make the display more useful. The hub is reportedly being designed to support widgets from third-party iPhone apps, potentially allowing users to check information at a glance rather than opening an app on their phone.
The HomeView name has reportedly been around since a trademark filing in 2025, which also mentioned homeOS. Apple has not officially announced the operating system, but it is believed to be intended for the company's smart home devices.
Apple TV 4K May Get a Faster Processor
The HomeView is not the only home-focused product Apple is reportedly preparing. The next Apple TV 4K could receive a significant processor upgrade, moving from the A15 Bionic chip found in the 2022 model to the A19.
Apple has also tested a Siri Remote with a built-in speaker. The idea is fairly straightforward: if the remote goes missing around the living room, its speaker could help users find it without having to search every sofa cushion.
Another feature under consideration is a set of built-in microphones on the Apple TV itself. This could let users speak to Siri without picking up the remote or having a HomePod nearby.
It is not yet known whether either feature will make it into the final product. For now, the A19 chip remains the main reported hardware change.
Apple TV 4K and HomePod Mini Could Go on Sale on October 30
According to Gurman, the updated Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini could reach stores on October 30, following their reported unveiling at Apple's October 13 event. Apple has not confirmed either date, so the timeline remains subject to change.
The company is also looking beyond its own devices as it works to expand its smart home offering. Apple is reportedly collaborating with appliance makers, including LG, on connected products such as thermostats, door locks and doorbells that would work with its ecosystem.
If the reports are accurate, the HomeView could give Apple users another way to manage their connected devices without constantly reaching for their phones. The costing, launch date as well as what features will make it in the final launch is still not confirmed.
