Oppo has started teasing a new compact tablet for India, and its small size is not the only thing the company wants buyers to notice. The upcoming Oppo Pad Mini Matte Display Edition will have an 8.8-inch screen, slim bezels and stylus support, making it an option for people who prefer writing or drawing on a tablet rather than carrying a larger device.

Oppo has also confirmed plans to launch the Enco X4 earbuds in India. Neither product has an official launch date or price yet. There is speculation that the launches could be timed around the ColorOS 17 rollout, which is scheduled to begin on October 13, but the company has not confirmed this.

Oppo Pad Mini Matte Display Edition Features

The new Oppo tablet will have an 8.8-inch display surrounded by 2.9mm-thin bezels, as revealed by the company in a post on X. Its compact build is meant to make the device easier to hold in one hand, which could appeal to users who find larger tablets cumbersome.

Oppo is also focusing on people who use tablets for more than watching videos. The Pad Mini Matte Display Edition will support a stylus and is being positioned for note-taking, writing and creative work. The matte display could be particularly useful for those who spend a lot of time reading, sketching or making handwritten notes.

That said, Oppo has shared only a few details about the Indian model so far. The display size, bezel thickness and stylus support are confirmed, but the rest of its specifications are still under wraps.

Oppo Pad Mini Matte Display Edition Specifications (Expected)

The Chinese version gives us a better idea of what the Indian model might offer, although the specifications could differ between the two markets.

The tablet sold in China features an 8.8-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and packs an 8,000mAh battery. Charging is handled by a 67W wired fast charging system.

On the software side, the Chinese variant runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. Oppo has yet to confirm whether the Indian edition will use the same processor, battery, display specifications or software.

These details are worth keeping in mind before drawing conclusions about the Indian model, as the company has not announced its full hardware specifications.

Oppo has not revealed when the Pad Mini Matte Display Edition will launch in India or how much it will cost. The same goes for the Enco X4 earbuds.

The October 13 start of the ColorOS 17 rollout has led to speculation about a possible launch around that date. However, there is no official confirmation that Oppo will unveil either product alongside the software update.

For now, buyers will have to wait for Oppo to announce the launch schedule, pricing and full specifications of both devices.
