Vivo has introduced its latest flagship smartphone lineup in China with the launch of the X500 series. The new range consists of three models, the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max. While the standard X500 gets a different chipset from the Pro models, the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are powered by MediaTek's new Dimensity 9600 Pro.

The Vivo X500 and X500 Pro Max will be available to buy in China from September 24, while the X500 Pro will go on sale a few days later, on September 29. All three phones will be sold through Vivo's online store in China.

Vivo X500 Series Price in China

The Vivo X500 starts at CNY 5,499 (roughly Rs. 79,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 12GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 5,999 (about Rs. 86,000), while the 12GB + 1TB version costs CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs. 1,00,000).

The Vivo X500 Pro starts at CNY 6,499 (around Rs. 93,000) for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Its 12GB + 512GB configuration costs CNY 7,499 (about Rs. 1,07,000), while the 12GB + 1TB model is priced at CNY 8,499 (roughly Rs. 1,22,000).

The Vivo X500 Pro Max starts at CNY 6,999 (around Rs. 1,00,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 512GB model costs CNY 7,999 (about Rs. 1,14,000), while the 16GB + 512GB version is priced at CNY 8,499 (roughly Rs. 1,22,000). The 12GB + 1TB variant costs CNY 8,999 (about Rs. 1,29,000). Vivo is also selling a 16GB + 1TB version bundled as part of a Creator Kit.

The standard Vivo X500 comes in Dawn, Echoes of the Earth, Night Photography and Sunny colour options. The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are available in the same three finishes, but replace Dawn with a Viewing the Sunset option.

Vivo X500 Specifications

The Vivo X500 is the smallest model in terms of positioning, but still packs flagship-grade hardware. It has a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 1,260 x 2,750-pixel resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The panel also supports 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, 1.07 billion colours, HDR and a 300Hz touch sampling rate, with a pixel density of 459ppi.

The phone runs Vivo's OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for protection against dust and water.

Under the hood, the X500 uses the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9600M chipset, which can reach a peak clock speed of 4.21GHz. The processor is accompanied by an ARM G1 Ultra GPU and Vivo's V3+ Blueprint Imaging Chip. The phone comes with 12GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

For photography, Vivo has teamed up with Zeiss for the X500's triple rear camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.68 aperture, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.55 aperture. The telephoto camera offers up to 3.1x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. There is also a 50-megapixel front camera.

Video recording goes up to 8K at 30fps. The X500 is powered by a 7,500mAh battery, which supports 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, 5G, 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and a USB Type-C port. The phone measures 157.01 x 74.49 x 8.15mm and weighs around 213g.

Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max Specifications

The X500 Pro gets a more compact 6.36-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 1,216 x 2,660-pixel resolution and up to a 144Hz refresh rate. The X500 Pro Max takes a different approach with a much larger 6.85-inch 2K AMOLED display. It has a 1,440 x 3,168-pixel resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and 507ppi pixel density.

Both phones use the 2nm MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. The octa-core processor reaches speeds of up to 4.55GHz and is paired with a Mali-G2-Ultra-NX GPU. Vivo has also included its V3+ and VS1 Blueprint Image Chips, along with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The camera hardware is where Vivo has given the two Pro models their own identities. Both phones feature a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.57 aperture and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

The X500 Pro has a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.52 aperture, while the X500 Pro Max steps things up with a 200-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/2.67 aperture. Both models have 50-megapixel selfie cameras and can record video at up to 4K at 240fps.

The battery capacities also differ between the two. The Vivo X500 Pro has a 6,510mAh battery, while the X500 Pro Max packs an 8,000mAh cell. Both support 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.

The X500 Pro measures 151.78 x 71.92 x 7.95mm and weighs around 192g. The X500 Pro Max is larger at 163.32 x 76.82 x 7.95mm and weighs approximately 225g. Both phones also come with ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors and support 5G, 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB Type-C connectivity.
