Xiaomi is bringing one of its new flagship phones to the global market, and India is part of the plan. The company has now teased the Xiaomi 18 Pro in India, shortly after the smartphone made its debut in China.
The teaser does not reveal when the phone will launch in India or how much it will cost. It does, however, give Indian buyers a clear indication that the Xiaomi 18 Pro is on its way.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Coming to India
Xiaomi India has posted an image of the Xiaomi 18 Pro on X, showing the phone in a blue finish. The accompanying message says the smartphone is “coming soon” and confirms that the Xiaomi 18 Pro is going global.
There is an important detail in the teaser. Xiaomi has named the Pro model specifically and has not mentioned the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. So, for now, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is the only phone from the new series that the company has confirmed for India.
The move is also different from what Xiaomi did with the previous generation. The Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max stayed limited to China, while Xiaomi launched the standard Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra in India. The Xiaomi 18 Pro could therefore be the first Pro model from the recent lineup to bring its rear display feature to the Indian market.
As of now, Xiaomi has not shared an India launch date or local pricing. There was an earlier claim that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series could reach India by December, but that information has not been confirmed by the company.
The two new Pro models were unveiled in China on September 23. In the Chinese market, the Xiaomi 18 Pro starts at CNY 5,999, which converts to around Rs. 86,000, for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. The 16GB + 1TB configuration costs CNY 8,999, or approximately Rs. 1,29,000. Xiaomi also offers a transparent 16GB + 1TB version for CNY 9,999, roughly Rs. 1,43,000.
What Does Xiaomi 18 Pro Offer?
The Xiaomi 18 Pro stands out from most conventional flagship phones with a second display placed on its rear panel. The main screen measures 6.4 inches and uses an AMOLED panel with a 1,120x2,436-pixel resolution. It supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and can reach 4,000 nits of peak brightness.
The rear panel houses a smaller 2.7-inch AMOLED screen. It has a 596x912-pixel resolution and also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, with brightness reaching up to 4,000 nits. The additional screen can also be used with the rear camera system.
Performance comes from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. Xiaomi pairs it with as much as 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone ships with HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.

Photography is another major part of the phone's hardware. Xiaomi has fitted three cameras on the rear, including a 200-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with OIS and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 50-megapixel sensor on the front takes care of selfies and video calls.
The battery is rated at 7,000mAh. Charging support includes 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, while wired reverse charging can deliver up to 27W.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro also supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB Type-C and GPS. More information about its India variant, including the launch date and price, is expected closer to the local launch.
