Xiaomi has launched its new flagship smartphone lineup in China, introducing the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The two phones keep the company's dual-screen design, with a display sitting next to the rear camera module, but get upgraded internals and camera hardware.

Both models are powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chipsets and come with triple rear cameras. Xiaomi is also offering up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage on both phones.

Xiaomi 18 Pro, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Specifications

Both phones are dual-SIM devices and run HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,120 x 2,436 pixels. It supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, 300Hz touch sampling and up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness, along with DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage.

The Pro Max gets a bigger 6.9-inch AMOLED screen with a 1,208 x 2,624-pixel resolution. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 4,000 nits peak brightness and DCI-P3.

One of the more interesting additions is Privacy Display. The feature narrows the viewing angle of the screen, making it harder for people sitting nearby to see what is on the display.

The second screen on the back has also grown slightly on the Pro Max. The Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 2.7-inch AMOLED rear display with a 596 x 912-pixel resolution, while the Pro Max comes with a 2.9-inch panel with a 596 x 976-pixel resolution. Both rear screens support the same refresh rate and peak brightness as the main displays.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, while the Pro Max gets the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Both are octa-core chips built using a 2nm process and have a peak clock speed of 5GHz. They are paired with the new Adreno GPU, up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Cameras

Xiaomi has used the same triple-camera setup on both phones. The main camera is a 200-megapixel sensor with an f/1.67 aperture and optical image stabilisation. It is accompanied by a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.4 aperture and OIS.

The third camera is a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and a 102-degree field of view. Both phones can shoot video at up to 8K resolution at 30fps.

For selfies and video calls, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max have a 50-megapixel front camera.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Battery and Connectivity

The two phones have noticeably different battery capacities. The Xiaomi 18 Pro packs a 7,000mAh battery, while the Pro Max comes with an 8,500mAh cell.

Charging speeds are the same on both models, with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. They can also be used for wired reverse charging at up to 27W.

In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi 18 Pro series supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Both phones have a USB Type-C port and support GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, NavIC and Galileo.

An in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock are available for security.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro measures 151.8 x 72 x 8.46mm and weighs around 203g. The larger Pro Max measures 163.39 x 77.6 x 8.39mm and weighs about 235g.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro starts at CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs. 86,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The 12GB + 512GB version is priced at CNY 6,999 (about Rs. 1,00,000), while the 16GB + 512GB option costs CNY 7,999 (around Rs. 1,14,000). The 16GB + 1TB model is priced at CNY 8,999 (roughly Rs. 1,29,000).

There is also a transparent version of the 16GB + 1TB Xiaomi 18 Pro, which costs CNY 9,999 (around Rs. 1,43,000).

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max costs CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs. 1,00,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. Its 12GB + 512GB model costs CNY 7,999 (about Rs. 1,14,000), while the 16GB + 512GB version is priced at CNY 8,999 (around Rs. 1,29,000). The 16GB + 1TB variant costs CNY 9,999 (about Rs. 1,43,000). The transparent version of this configuration is priced at CNY 10,999 (roughly Rs. 1,57,000).

The phones will be sold in China through Xiaomi's online store and are listed in Black, Ice Peach Pink, Starry Blue and White colour options.
