Nintendo ended its June 2026 Direct in a manner that I think pleased everyone, and that was putting out a game that almost everyone was somewhat convinced was coming. The title here in discussion is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which is being remade for its latest console, the Switch 2, which will mark its debut sometime later this year. This is no ordinary title; it is a 1998 Nintendo classic, but it seems like Nintendo was quite shy when it came to showing the remake of its latest title, but it looks good.

The reveal trailer barely lasted a few seconds. Viewers got a quick look at Kokiri Forest, a shot of a young Link asleep, and the Triforce symbol glowing on his hand before the logo flashed on screen and the teaser ended. Nintendo described the game as being "reborn exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2", hinting that this could be a full rebuild rather than another remaster of the N64 original. Beyond that, however, the company hasn't shared much, leaving fans to piece together clues from the brief footage.
The style of art that was portrayed seems much more concrete and has much more to offer when it comes to textures and details and seems more level-headed as compared to Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom.
A Game That Changed The Rules For 3D Action-Adventure
A 1998 classic, the title is almost 30 years old and has been touted as the greatest game ever made. It brought to life elements such as lock-on targeting; puzzles in dungeons, like we all love; and one of the biggest things that we all take for granted and what today's action-adventure games take inspiration from: an open world. All this was given by this title to the gaming industry. There's also a remaster that made its way to the 3DS in 2011, and the original one can be found on Switch Online, but Nintendo seems to be stepping up its game here.

Even though the gameplay footage was a small one for this classic, one can assume that a bigger, more in-depth showcase could be in line, and that could probably take place after Star Fox makes its way on June 25 and Nintendo has something new to venture into. This is an exclusive remake for the Nintendo Switch 2, and this could be a good addition for a console that has been taking it slow when it comes to first-party exclusive releases and could also drive sales by making it seem necessary to buy.
