Oppo has quietly rolled out the Oppo Watch S in global markets, bringing a smartwatch that’s been around in China since October last year to a wider audience. At its core, this is a watch that’s clearly designed for everyday wear, with a strong focus on health tracking and long battery life rather than flashy extras.

The first thing you notice is the screen. The Oppo Watch S comes with a 1.46-inch AMOLED display that looks crisp and vibrant, whether you’re checking the time or scrolling through workout stats. Oppo says the screen can push high brightness levels, which should make it easier to read outdoors, especially during runs or walks under direct sunlight.

Under the hood, the watch runs on a BES2800BP chipset and comes with 4GB of built-in storage. It uses ColorOS Watch 7.1 and works with both Android and iPhones, so you don’t need to worry too much about compatibility. Bluetooth 5.2 handles connectivity, covering all the usual bases for calls, music, and data syncing.

Health tracking is where the Oppo Watch S really spends most of its attention. It packs a wide range of sensors, including heart rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature, and motion sensors. There’s also dual-band GNSS, which should help with more accurate location tracking when you’re outdoors. One of the more practical features is the 60-second wellness check, which gives you a quick snapshot of things like heart rate, sleep, stress, blood oxygen levels, and wrist temperature, all in one go.

Sleep tracking is fairly detailed too. The watch keeps an eye on sleep stages, breathing rate, and overnight blood oxygen levels. During the day, it continuously tracks your heart rate and can alert you if it notices unusually high or low readings. You also get breathing exercises, fall detection, and both manual and automatic SpO₂ monitoring, which adds to its overall health-focused approach.

For fitness enthusiasts, the Oppo Watch S supports over 100 workout modes. This includes everything from basic activities like walking, running, and cycling to sports such as badminton, tennis, swimming, and rowing. Some workouts also offer more in-depth performance insights, which should be useful if you’re trying to improve rather than just track activity. The watch is rated for 5ATM water resistance and also carries an IP68 rating, so it’s built to handle sweat, rain, and swimming sessions without trouble.

Battery life is one of the watch’s bigger talking points. It packs a 339mAh battery, and Oppo claims it can last up to 10 days on a single charge with normal use. With typical usage, it’s said to last around seven days, while enabling the always-on display brings that down to about four days. In terms of comfort, the watch is relatively slim and lightweight, weighing about 35 grams without the strap, so it shouldn’t feel bulky during all-day wear.

The watch is available in two colour options, Phantom Black and Silver Glow, keeping the overall look clean and minimal.
