Redmi will take the wraps off the Note 17 series in China on July 14, but ahead of the official announcement, a fresh round of leaks has revealed what buyers can expect from the upcoming smartphones. Alongside the hardware details of the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro, a separate leak has also shed light on the storage variant and colour options that could be offered with the standard Redmi Note 17 in India.

While Xiaomi is yet to announce an India launch date, the latest information suggests the company may already be preparing the handset for the market.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd), the Redmi Note 17 could arrive in India with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The leak also points to Blue and Dark Night as two of the launch colours, although additional variants may be introduced later. Xiaomi has not confirmed these details yet.

Another leak, shared by Chinese tipster Experience More, focuses on the specifications of the Chinese models. The Redmi Note 17 is tipped to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor. It is also expected to feature a large 7 inch Full HD+ Samsung E4 Pro display with a peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits.

Battery life could be one of the biggest highlights of the phone. The Redmi Note 17 is said to pack an 8,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging. It could also support 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing it to charge compatible devices. Other expected features include a 50 megapixel primary rear camera, an optical fingerprint scanner and an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is expected to bring a few notable upgrades. It is tipped to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, paired with a 6.83 inch flat display carrying a 1.5K resolution and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness.

The Pro model could also house a larger 9,000mAh battery with support for 67W wired fast charging, while retaining 22.5W reverse wired charging. Camera hardware is expected to remain similar, with a 50 megapixel main sensor, while security could be handled by an optical fingerprint scanner. The handset is also tipped to offer IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for improved protection against dust and water.
