Design is shaping up to be one of the standout talking points for the Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup. All three models—Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra—are expected to shift to a unified camera housing, moving away from the individually separated camera rings seen earlier. The Ultra variant is also tipped to feature slightly softer, more rounded edges along with a refreshed palette of colour options, giving it a sleeker and more cohesive visual identity.

On the performance side, the Galaxy S26 series is likely to ship with Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in select global markets. Other regions are expected to receive Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chipset. With this generation, Samsung is also said to be putting stronger emphasis on AI-driven use cases across productivity, imaging, and system intelligence, making on-device AI a central part of the experience.

The display lineup is expected to continue with QHD+ AMOLED panels running at 120 Hz across the series. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumoured to feature a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, with an additional privacy-focused screen feature reportedly built into the panel. Interestingly, the Galaxy S26 Plus is also tipped to jump to a 6.9-inch screen, bringing it in line with the Ultra model and marking a notable bump over the 6.7-inch panel on the Galaxy S25 Plus. Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy S26 is expected to retain a compact 6.2-inch display.

Samsung is said to be tweaking the camera hardware for this generation. Both the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus may move to a new 12-megapixel 3x telephoto sensor, replacing the 10-megapixel unit used earlier, while retaining the 50-megapixel primary and 12-megapixel ultrawide cameras. The Galaxy S26 Ultra may also receive an upgraded 12-megapixel 3x telephoto lens, with the rest of its setup expected to mirror the S25 Ultra — including the 200-megapixel main camera, 50-megapixel ultrawide, and 50-megapixel 5x telephoto.

Reports suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will continue with a 5,000mAh battery but could finally gain support for 60W fast charging. The Galaxy S26 Plus is likely to retain its 4,900mAh unit, while the vanilla Galaxy S26 is expected to see an upgrade to a 4,300mAh battery from the 4,000mAh capacity on its predecessor. The lineup is also rumoured to support Qi2 wireless charging, which would make it compatible with MagSafe-style accessories.

Samsung typically unveils its S-series flagships in January, but reports indicate that the Galaxy S26 lineup may instead debut on February 25, 2026, in San Francisco — a location reportedly chosen to underline the company’s AI-centric direction. The shift is also linked to internal changes made late in the product cycle, including the decision to drop the rumoured Galaxy S26 Edge after weaker-than-anticipated demand for the S25 Edge.
Pricing details remain unconfirmed, but early expectations suggest Samsung may keep price brackets similar to the previous generation. For reference, the Galaxy S25 launched in India at ₹80,999, the Galaxy S25 Plus started at ₹99,999, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra at ₹129,999.
