Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Leaks: Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event is almost here, and all eyes are on the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The company has already confirmed that the launch event will take place on July 22 in London, although it hasn't officially revealed the foldable phone yet. That hasn't stopped the rumour mill, though. Over the past few weeks, leaks have revealed almost everything from its expected price to the chipset, cameras and design.

If the reports are accurate, Samsung isn't planning a major redesign this year. Instead, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to build on last year's Galaxy Z Flip 7 with a handful of refinements while keeping the familiar clamshell form factor.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 launch date

Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event will kick off at 2pm BST (6:30pm IST) on July 22 in London, where the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is widely expected to make its debut. The company is also tipped to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Watch 9 series and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 during the same event.

Samsung is yet to confirm how much the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will cost, but recent leaks suggest buyers in Europe may have to pay more than they did for the previous generation.

The 256GB variant is tipped to carry a price tag of EUR 1,299, which roughly translates to Rs. 1,41,000. Meanwhile, the 512GB model could be priced at EUR 1,499, or around Rs. 1,60,000.

For comparison, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 7 at EUR 1,199 in Europe, while the phone arrived in India with a starting price of Rs. 1,09,999.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 expected specifications

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 may look very familiar at first glance. Leaks suggest Samsung is sticking with a 6.9-inch foldable AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and offers up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness. The 4.1-inch cover display is also expected to return, although this time it could finally support a 120Hz refresh rate instead of being limited to a lower refresh rate.

One of the biggest talking points could be the processor. Reports claim Samsung will once again split the hardware depending on the market. Buyers in the US and China are expected to get a version powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, while India and Europe could receive Samsung's own 2nm Exynos 2600 processor. The phone is also expected to ship with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

On the software side, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is rumoured to run Android 17 with One UI 9 out of the box. Samsung is also expected to continue offering seven years of Android OS updates, matching its recent flagship devices.

As for cameras, there may not be much to get excited about. Current leaks suggest Samsung will retain the same hardware seen on the Galaxy Z Flip 7. That means a 50 megapixel main camera, a 12 megapixel ultra wide sensor and a 10 megapixel front camera.

The battery also doesn't appear to be changing. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to pack a 4,300mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging.

What could change is the overall feel of the phone. The upcoming foldable is tipped to be thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Z Flip 7. According to leaked dimensions, it could measure 6.1mm when unfolded and 13.2mm when folded, while its weight may drop to 180g from the previous model's 188g.
