Tecno Pova 8: Tecno has expanded its Pova lineup in India with the launch of the new Pova 8, arriving as the successor to last year's Pova 7. The smartphone brings a mix of gaming-focused hardware, a large battery, and a distinctive rear-panel design featuring the company's customisable Alive Matrix Display, which can show alerts and notifications from supported apps.

Tecno Pova 8 Specifications

Running HiOS 16 based on Android 16, the Pova 8 sports a 6.76-inch full-HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,344 pixels. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, delivers up to 950 nits of peak brightness in High Brightness Mode, and offers a 1,500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate. Tecno claims a screen-to-body ratio of 91.29 per cent and a pixel density of 381 ppi.

Powering the device is MediaTek's 6nm Dimensity 7100 chipset, paired with a Mali-G610 MC2 GPU. The smartphone is available with up to 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Tecno has also included dedicated G1 and SE1 signal chips to enhance connectivity performance.

For photography, the Pova 8 features a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary rear camera alongside a light sensor. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera app includes features such as AI Cam, Portrait Mode, Super Night Mode, Time-lapse, Dual Video, Vlog Mode, and Slow Motion.

The handset carries a MIL-STD-810H durability certification and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. To help manage temperatures during intensive gaming sessions, Tecno has equipped the device with a 14,689 sq mm cooling system.

One of the standout additions is the Alive Matrix Display on the back, which offers customisable visual alerts for different notifications and activities.

Keeping everything running is an 8,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. According to Tecno, the battery can deliver up to 1,198.1 hours of standby time, as much as 39.5 hours of calling, and up to 17.77 hours of video playback on a single charge. The smartphone measures 165.66 x 78.46 x 8.8 mm and weighs 225 g.

Price In India

The Pova 8 is available in 16-bit white, plasma orange, and terminal green colour options. It is offered in two memory variants, with prices starting at Rs. 29,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB version is priced at Rs. 31,999. The handset will be sold through Flipkart.
