WhatsApp is reportedly testing a redesigned attachment experience for iPhone users that could make sharing photos and videos much faster inside chats. The update has started rolling out to a limited group of iOS users and introduces a refreshed media attachment sheet that keeps the conversation visible while browsing recent files.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the feature is included in WhatsApp for iOS version 26.19.75, currently available through Apple’s App Store. The new layout adds a dedicated “recent” section directly within the attachment menu, allowing users to quickly access recently saved photos and videos without switching to a full-screen gallery view.
The redesigned interface reportedly displays recent media in a 4x4 grid placed below existing options such as Documents, Polls, Events, and AI Images. Users can tap on a thumbnail to instantly send the file or open it in the drawing editor before sharing. Scrolling further down expands the panel into a larger gallery interface similar to the standard Photos section.
At the moment, sharing media on WhatsApp requires users to tap the “+” icon and then move into a separate full-screen photo selection page. The updated design appears aimed at reducing those extra steps and creating a smoother sharing experience, especially for quick conversations.

The refreshed attachment sheet is also said to visually align with Apple’s newer Liquid Glass-inspired interface style, giving the feature a more modern appearance on iPhones.
While the redesign is currently limited to select users, WhatsApp is expected to expand availability more broadly over the coming days as testing continues.
