Zee5 premium subscription plan: The FIFA World Cup 2026 is all set to begin, and the excitement couldn't be higher as fans all across India are set and ready to plan for a month that will be full of football action. From picking favourite teams and sides to planning late-night watch parties, World Cup excitement has been building steadily in the lead-up to the tournament.

While anticipation for the competition was never in doubt, there was uncertainty over one key detail: where fans in India would be able to watch it. That question was answered only a few days before kickoff, when Zee Entertainment was announced as the official broadcaster of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the country.

The confirmation ended months of speculation. Until then, India remained one of the few major football markets where broadcast rights for the tournament had not been finalised.

The deal goes beyond just the World Cup. Zee has also picked up the rights to 38 other FIFA competitions through 2034, giving the broadcaster a much bigger presence in international football over the coming years.

To support that push, the network has launched four new sports channels: Unite8 Sports 1, Unite8 Sports 1 HD, Unite8 Sports 2 and Unite8 Sports 2 HD.

Those planning to stream matches can do so through Zee5. The platform is offering a three-month subscription for Rs. 799 and a yearly plan priced at Rs. 1,699.

Not everyone, however, will need a paid subscription to catch some of the tournament's biggest games.

Doordarshan Sports has confirmed that it will show selected FIFA World Cup 2026 matches on DD Sports, giving viewers another way to follow the action.

Which FIFA World Cup 2026 Matches Will Be Shown On DD Sports?

DD Sports will broadcast the tournament opener between Mexico and South Africa. The match is scheduled for June 11, with viewers in India able to watch it at 12:30am on June 12.

The broadcaster will also carry the latter stages of the competition. The quarter-finals, scheduled for July 9, 10 and 11, will be available on DD Free Dish. Coverage will continue with the semi-finals on July 14 and 15, followed by the World Cup final on July 19.

So even if you don't have access to Zee's channels or a Zee5 subscription, you'll still be able to watch some of the biggest matches of the tournament through DD Sports.
