Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand has issued an order banning rallies, dharnas, and public gatherings throughout the city in an effort to preserve public order. Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 (formerly Section 144) forbids public assemblies, processions, demonstrations, gatherings of five or more people, and the exhibition of any symbols or statements that can cause unrest.
This prohibition will be in place from October 27 at 6 PM until November 28. The order document states that it was issued in response to intelligence information indicating that several political groups and organisations are preparing to stage protests that would disturb the peace. Indira Park Dharna Chowk is the sole location where nonviolent dharnas and protests are allowed.
Nonetheless, there are exceptions for military personnel, police officers on duty, funeral processions, and anyone who receives special permissions from the appropriate authorities.

Any such events held in other parts of the city will be absolutely forbidden. The police commissioner has warned that those who disobey the order, particularly in delicate places like the Secretariat, will be prosecuted under the applicable penal regulations.
The Hyderabad City Police have urged the public to comply with these limitations and help keep the city peaceful and orderly.
