Gautam Buddh Nagar Govt Schools To Get Toilets And Solar Panels Under CSR Initiative
The project aims to address long-standing issues related to sanitation and power shortages in schools.

Students studying in government schools of Gautam Buddh Nagar are set to get improved basic facilities, with new toilets and solar-powered electricity systems to be installed under a CSR-funded initiative. The project aims to address long-standing issues related to sanitation and power shortages in schools.

As part of the plan, new toilets will be constructed in 10 government schools, five each in Jewar and Dadri blocks. In addition, 20-kilowatt solar power systems will be installed in seven government schools and three Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply, especially during the summer months.

District Construction Coordinator Avinash said the project will be implemented for Rs 2.5 crore through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. The execution responsibility for both toilet construction and solar panel installation has been assigned to B Mart.

Officials said the initiative will significantly reduce the inconvenience faced by students due to a lack of sanitation facilities and frequent power cuts, which often disrupt classroom activities. District Basic Education Officer Rahul Pawar said similar development works, including school digitalisation, building repairs and construction of multi-storey structures, have earlier been carried out in the district through CSR support.
