Residents of Saviour Greenisle society staged a protest on Monday against the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, alleging negligence regarding the growing threat of aggressive stray dogs in the area. The situation escalated when residents prevented a Municipal Corporation vehicle from leaving the premises, demanding immediate action.

Standoff With Municipal Corporation

According to residents, a Municipal Corporation team arrived at the society but refused to catch the aggressive dogs, citing that the animals had already been sterilized. This refusal angered the residents, who argued that the inaction violates Supreme Court guidelines which mandate immediate intervention in cases involving aggressive and life-threatening dogs.

Angered by the lack of concrete steps despite repeated complaints, the residents held a peaceful protest and blocked the civic body's vehicle, demanding that a senior official visit the spot to resolve the crisis.

Recent Attacks And Complaints

The protest follows a series of incidents in the society:

December 22: A formal complaint was filed with the Municipal Corporation regarding the aggressive dogs.

December 25: A woman resident was seriously injured after being attacked and bitten by a dog.
