Two separate accidents were reported in Ghaziabad on Monday, highlighting the risks posed by fog and traffic violations in the city.

Early Monday morning, five vehicles collided on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway near Kalchhina, in the Bhojpur police station area. The accident, involving two lorries and three cars, left three people injured. They were admitted to the hospital but discharged after receiving first aid.

Reports indicate that the collision occurred after a lorry braked suddenly, causing the following vehicles to crash. The expressway team quickly cleared the road and assisted the injured. The incident took place on the lane heading from Meerut to Ghaziabad.

In a separate incident around 10:30 AM in Lohiya Nagar, a car lost control and collided with a transformer. Four people, including Mayank Saini of Nehru Nagar, were injured and admitted to Ganesh Hospital.

Authorities have also raised concerns about the growing problem of vehicles driving on the wrong side in Ghaziabad. Drivers frequently disregard traffic rules, especially at busy intersections, flyovers, Railway Over Bridges (ROBs), and service roads, creating a constant risk of accidents. 

Two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws travelling in the wrong direction often force other vehicles to brake suddenly, leading to rear-end collisions, while pedestrians are also at risk. Officials say the problem continues to grow due to a lack of strict enforcement.
