The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has launched a new scheme for the allotment of the remaining plots in its Medical Device Park, offering 22 plots of 1,000, 2,100 and 5,940 square metres. The scheme will remain open for one month.

So far, YEIDA has allotted 101 plots in the Medical Device Park, which is being developed over 350 acres in Sector 28. In total, more than 200 plots are planned to be developed in five phases, with one unit already operational.

The central government has set a March 2026 deadline for the completion of the Medical Device Park. However, YEIDA has sought a one-year extension to meet the development targets. This is the second plot allotment scheme launched by YEIDA for the remaining plots during the current financial year.

As part of the project, 13 types of laboratories will be established within the park. The tender process for procuring equipment for these labs is currently underway. YEIDA is also set to sign an agreement with the Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology (BRIT) for setting up a gamma radiation lab, after which the process of selecting an operating company will begin.

The Medical Device Park will focus on the manufacturing of electronics-based medical devices and is the first such park in the state. The central government has extended a grant of Rs 1,000 crore for the project. Similar medical device parks are also under development in Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
