A woman killed her husband with her boyfriend’s help and made a poisonous snake bite the corpse over 10 times to stage the death. However, their plan failed when the autopsy report revealed that the man had died by strangulation. The deceased has been identified as Amit, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Meerut. Police have arrested both accused.
The entire incident took place in Akbarpur village under the Bahsuma police station area.
A video related to the case is also going viral on social media, showing Amit's lifeless body lying on a bed while a snake repeatedly bites him. When police recovered the body and sent it for the postmortem, the truth was uncovered.
Acting on suspicion, police detained Amit's wife, Ravita, for questioning. During interrogation, she confessed to the crime, admitting that she and her boyfriend, Amarjeet, had murdered Amit together. Ravita revealed that she had purchased a snake for Rs 1,000 to stage the killing.
On Saturday night, Ravita and Amarjeet first strangled Amit while he was sleeping. They then placed a snake on his bed to make it appear as if he had died from a snakebite. To cover up the murder, they spread false news that Amit had died from a snakebite.
Amit, a labourer, was the sole breadwinner of his family.
The incident came days after the horrific incident of Saurabh Shukla’s murder. Shukla’s wife Muskaan Rastogi killed him with the help of her lover. The duo chopped his body and stuffed it in a drum using cement.
