In a significant step to ensure commuters' safety, the Meerut Police, in collaboration with KMC Hospital, will now deploy ambulances on the Delhi-Dehradun highway and other major routes to provide rapid medical assistance to road accident victims.
According to SP Traffic Raghavendra Mishra, the hospital has supplied one ambulance along with trained staff and a driver. A police officer will accompany the ambulance on 12-hour shifts.
Upon receiving reports of an accident, the team will rush to the scene and transport the injured directly to the hospital for immediate treatment.
This initiative aims to reduce response time and save lives on highways passing through Meerut.
