The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to distribute free gas cylinders to Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries in Hapur ahead of Diwali. Under the scheme, eligible families receive two free cylinders annually, one for Holi and another for Diwali.

This year, the 58,000 beneficiaries who had already received their Holi cylinders will be provided with additional cylinders for the festive season. The Supply Department has initiated preparations and ordered extra consignments to ensure timely distribution in October.

District Supply Officer Dr Seema Singh stated that the subsidy will be credited to the accounts of Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries in the presence of the District Magistrate and District Panchayat Officer. The initiative aims to ensure that all eligible families have access to cooking gas during the Diwali celebrations.

The Ujjwala Yojana also includes the provision of stoves and refill facilities, ensuring that low-income families can cook safely and efficiently during festivals.
