Aiming to position Uttar Pradesh among the country’s most developed states by 2047, the Yogi Adityanath government is moving ahead with a comprehensive strategy centred on industrial expansion and large-scale infrastructure development.
Work on the ‘Viksit Uttar Pradesh 2047’ vision document is progressing, with the state receiving more than 98 lakh suggestions from citizens and stakeholders. Most inputs pertain to agriculture, rural development, and education, an indication of strong public engagement, according to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
UP is steadily advancing toward its target of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy, with a long-term goal of a six-trillion-dollar economy by 2047. Achieving this, officials say, will require an annual growth rate of 15-16 per cent.
The Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2022 has been instrumental in boosting industrial activity by offering capital subsidies of up to 25 per cent. To transform Purvanchal and Bundelkhand into new industrial hubs, the subsidy ceiling has been fixed at Rs 45 crore.
Additionally, the state’s graded stamp duty exemption, 100 per cent in Purvanchal and Bundelkhand, 75 per cent in Madhyanchal and Paschimanchal, and up to 50 per cent in Noida-Ghaziabad, has emerged as a strong incentive for new and expanding investors.
Infrastructure development has been a key priority in recent years. With 13 expressways and five international airports, Uttar Pradesh now offers the country’s largest connectivity network, helping it emerge as a major logistics hub. In the 2025-26 budget worth Rs 8,08,736 crore, nearly 22 per cent has been earmarked for infrastructure projects, including expressway expansion, industrial corridors, warehousing, multimodal logistics hubs, and new industrial townships.
The government believes these initiatives will significantly enhance the state's industrial capacity and generate new employment opportunities. The ‘Viksit Uttar Pradesh 2047’ roadmap, officials say, is taking shape as a collaborative, future-oriented process driven by policy reform, developmental push, and wide public participation.
