UP Approves 33 Food Processing Projects, Sanctions Rs 57 Crore Grant Under 2023 Policy

The state-level empowered committee has approved 33 projects under the Uttar Pradesh Food Processing Industry Policy-2023. A total grant of Rs 57 crore has been sanctioned for these projects.

The State-level Empowered Committee, formed under the Uttar Pradesh Food Processing Industry Policy-2023, has approved 33 project proposals. A total grant of Rs 57 crore has been sanctioned for these projects. 

After discussing all 33 proposals, permission was also granted to issue a Letter of Comfort. In a meeting chaired by Agriculture Production Commissioner Deepak Kumar at the APC auditorium, a total of 35 proposals were presented, of which 33 were approved.

These projects will be established in several districts, including Ambedkar Nagar, Aligarh, Agra, Kanpur Nagar, Bareilly, Lucknow, Saharanpur, Sitapur, Sultanpur, and Sonbhadra. Additional Chief Secretary BL Meena stated that under the policy, Bareilly currently ranks first, Rampur second, and Kanpur Nagar third. 

Meanwhile, in this regard, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has instructed officials to ensure time-bound action on the projects and to regularly review matters related to subsidies.
