The provisional voter list prepared for the UP three-tier Panchayat election was published at tehsils (administrative divisions) and polling booths on Tuesday. Objections and claims regarding the provisional list are set to be accepted from Wednesday, December 24, to December 30.

Following the resolution of these objections and claims, the final voter list will be published on January 6. In addition to accepting objections and claims on the provisional voter list for the three-tier Panchayat election, which begins on Wednesday, a re-verification will also be conducted for 32,373 voters over the age of 24 who are registering their names for the first time in Ghaziabad.

The names of these voters were not included in the 2021 voter list, even though they could have had their names included after turning 18. In this context, it will be determined whether any errors occurred during the process of adding the names of new voters to the list.

Deputy District Election Officer Saurabh Bhatt stated that there are a total of 142 village councils (Gram Panchayats) in the four blocks of Ghaziabad district. The 2021 voter list for the district included a total of 4,41,245 voters. The three-tier Panchayat election is now likely to be held in March-April.

In view of this, during the extensive revision campaign, the names of 67,214 voters have been added to the voter list in the district, and the names of 33,405 voters have been removed.
