The Uttarakhand government has made e-KYC mandatory for all ration card holders, setting January 15 as the final deadline. Ration cards for which e-KYC is not completed by this date will be automatically cancelled, and the cardholders will also be excluded from the Ayushman Yojana.
Officials said that only ration cards with completed e-KYC are considered valid on the Ayushman Yojana portal. As a result, beneficiaries who fail to complete the verification process will be removed from the eligibility list of the health insurance scheme. The move is aimed at identifying and eliminating ineligible beneficiaries from government welfare schemes.

In Dehradun district, around 80 per cent of ration card holders have completed their e-KYC, while the remaining 20 per cent are yet to do so. The district has a total of about 3.75 lakh ration cards issued under the National Food Security Scheme, Antyodaya Anna Yojana, and the State Food Scheme, covering nearly 15 lakh beneficiaries.
District Supply Officer KK Agarwal warned that ration cards without e-KYC will be cancelled after the deadline, leading to loss of benefits under both the ration scheme and the Ayushman Yojana. He urged all consumers to complete their ration card e-KYC before January 15 to ensure continued eligibility under the schemes.
