The situation between Iran and the United States is becoming more serious, with both sides making strong statements and military moves. Iran’s new claim over the Strait of Hormuz has now added to fears of a possible conflict. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have released a new map showing the part of the Strait they say is under their control. The development comes at a time when US forces are already active in the region.

Iran Draws New Boundaries In Hormuz

According to Iranian state media, the areas claimed by Tehran stretches from near Qeshm Island (Iran) to Umm al Quwain (UAE) in the west, and from Mount Mobarak (Iran) to Fujairah (UAE) in the east. A spokesperson further warned that any ship not following Iran’s rules in this area could be stopped by force. This shows that Iran is taking a stronger position over this important water route.

Trump's Stark Warning To Tehran

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has warned that if Iran attacks American ships, it will face very serious consequences. He also said the US military is strong and ready, with weapons and bases across the world. In an interview with Fox News, Trump cautioned that Iran will be "blown off the face of the Earth" if they attack US vessels escorting stranded ships through the Strait.

“We've shot down seven small Boats or, as they like to call them, 'fast' Boats. It's all they have left. Other than the South Korean Ship, there has been, at this moment, no damage going through the Strait. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, will have a News Conference tomorrow (Tuesday) morning,” Trump said.

Earlier on Sunday, he had announced that the US is guiding ships through the strait under an operation called “Project Freedom.” Trump claimed that Iran has fired at some ships, including a South Korean cargo ship, though no major damage has been reported so far. He also suggested that countries like South Korea should join the mission to keep the route safe.

While the US military claims that it destroyed several Iranian boats and stopped missiles and drones, Tehran has denied these claims. Notably, the Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important routes in the world for oil and trade. Many ships pass through it every day. Therefore, any tension in this area can directly affect global markets and supply chains.
