Elon Musk has indicated that his AI company, SpaceXAI, will be renamed SpaceXSI. The move follows a recent directive from US President Donald Trump encouraging federal agencies to replace the term "artificial intelligence" with "super intelligence" in official communications.

SpaceXAI Will Be Renamed SpaceXSI

Musk confirmed the proposed change on social media platform X after a user asked whether SpaceXAI could be renamed SpaceXSI. Musk replied, "Yes, we will make that change," subsequently posting that there would be "No more AI" and that "SI" was better.

The planned name change comes shortly after Musk consolidated his artificial intelligence operations under SpaceX. SpaceXAI was established after SpaceX acquired xAI, bringing the Grok chatbot into the broader SpaceX ecosystem.

However, no formal announcement detailing when the name change will take effect has been made yet. As of Sunday, SpaceXAI's website and official social media accounts were still using the existing name.

What Is Trump's 'Super Intelligence' Executive Order?

Musk's statement follows an executive order signed by Trump on September 29, directing US federal agencies to use "Super Intelligence" and "SI" in place of "Artificial Intelligence" and "AI" in official communications where legally permitted. Administration officials argue the new phrase better reflects the advancing power and capabilities of the technology.

The shift in terminology has already appeared in Musk's public appearances. During a recent event alongside Trump, Musk briefly referenced "AI" before correcting himself to say "SI."

How Are Tech Leaders Reacting To SI Renaming?

A few industry executives have started using the phrase in recent public discussions, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. However, the broader technology industry has not adopted "super intelligence" as a replacement for "AI."

For SpaceXAI, Musk's statement signals a shift in branding rather than an immediate change to its core products, underlying models, or technical infrastructure.
