France Protest: Amid the ongoing protests in France, US President Donald Trump slammed French President Emmanuel Macron over his immigration policies. The US president claimed that the situation would have been better if Macron had closed the borders in the past. He also claimed that Paris could soon become a "Muslim city", adding that he had suggested the French president close the borders and tighten the immigration policies.

France Protest: Trump Slams Macron

While talking to the media, Trump stated that Macron "committed a mistake" by not closing the borders, adding that his administration "allowed everone" to enter France. "Paris is going to be a Muslim city very soon, and that wasn't the deal...Emmanuel should've closed his borders a long time ago. I told him to do it," Trump said.

The US president further alleged that the protests in France was due to the immigration policies and had nothing to do with poor schools or employement. "The France thing is a very sad situation...What's happening in France has to do with immigration- not schools, not anything — it's immigration. I told President Macron, 'Close up your borders!'" he added.

France: Authorities In Action

Earlier on Monday, French authorities announced several restrictions and deployed additional security forces in the prominent cities following two days of large-scale demonstrations. At least 2,400 people were arrested, and others were removed from the demonstration sites.

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu stated that despite the restrictions and actions, not even a single individual was killed, further calling it a miracle. Emmanuel Macron has urged the protesters to follow the guidelines and not organize such demonstrations in the restricted zones. However, he assured that the demands of the protesters are being considered, adding that relevant steps will be taken.

The protests are being held due to alleged lack of facilities in the government schools and a cut in the public funding.
