An Indian national was injured in an attack after debris from an intercepted drone fell near the Shaybah oilfield in the kingdom’s southeastern region on Wednesday. A Nepali national and a Filipino national were killed in the incident, while a Pakistani national was also injured. Sharing a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Riyadh said, The Embassy has learnt that one Indian national was injured in an attack at Shaybah oilfield today. We are in touch with Saudi authorities and await further details. We will provide all necessary help to the injured Indian national."

As per the Saudi defence ministry,  falling debris struck a contractor’s vehicle outside the facility’s perimeter, triggering a fire. Authorities responded to the incident and took the necessary measures, the ministry said, adding that the fire did not affect operations at the oilfield. The ministry also extended condolences to the families of those killed and wished the injured a speedy recovery. The incident occurred amid a series of drone attacks from the Houthis as the Houthis and the Saudi coalition continue fighting in Yemen, after their UN-administered four-year truce fell through in July this year.
