US Plane Missing: The US Coast Guard on Saturday said a plane flying from Bermuda to Boston with 6 people onboard went missing, prompting the United States Coast Guard (USCG) to launch a search operation. The USCG said it started a search after contact was lost with the Gulfstream aircraft.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) flagged losing contact with the aircraft this morning.

The official Coast Guard Northeast District X account shared the incident on X, stating, "#BREAKING: @uscg is searching for a Gulfstream aircraft with 6 persons on board. @FAANews reported losing contact w/the aircraft early Saturday morning. #USCG air & surface crews have launched in search of the aircraft. Updates will be provided here as info becomes available. #SAR."

In another X post, the Coast Guard Northeast District shared updates, saying USCG air and surface crews have launched a search operation.

#UPDATE : the plane was traveling from Bermuda to Boston. Current search area is off the coast of Nantucket. Aircraft is a Gulfstream G100 (Tail #CGRJP)," the second X post read.

The US Coast Guard, in a statement, said a plane with six people aboard lost contact during a flight from Bermuda to Boston, and a search for the missing aircraft was underway off the coast of Nantucket.

The search for the Gulfstream G100 included crews in the air and on the water, the Coast Guard said. The aircraft had taken off from Bermuda's L.F. Wade International Airport for a nearly two-hour, late-night flight to Boston Logan International Airport, according to FlightAware.
