Russia-Ukraine War: At least 15 people were killed and seven others injured after a Russian drone struck a bus in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro. Ukrainian emergency services on Sunday said the drone hit a bus, which was carrying mine workers. The major attack on the Ukrainian city came just three days before the second round of the trilateral peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in the presence of US officials.
The bus exploded following the strike, said the emergency services. According to DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, its bus had been targeted by Russia, accusing Moscow of carrying out "a large-scale terrorist attack on DTEK mines in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In a Telegram post, DTEK said the epicentre of one of the attacks was a company bus transporting miners from the enterprise after a shift in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Further Russia-Ukraine Talks In Next Week: Zelenskyy
In another development, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the next round of peace talks between Russian and Ukrainian delegations will take place on Wednesday and Thursday in Abu Dhabi. The Ukrainian President said the trilateral meet will continue negotiations aimed at ending Moscow's all-out invasion of its neighbour.
"We have just had a report from our negotiating team. The dates for the next trilateral meetings have been set: February 4 and 5 in Abu Dhabi. Ukraine is ready for substantive talks, and we are interested in an outcome that will bring us closer to a real and dignified end to the war," Zelenskyy said in a Telegram post. There was no immediate comment from US or Russian officials.
